October houses two incredible zodiac signs: Libra and Scorpio. In between there’s also the Libra-Scorpio cusp which is the gray area between Libra and Scorpio—this concept will be discussed in the last part of this article.
1. Libra ♎ Zodiac Sign (September 23 – October 22) – The Scale
The first 2/3 of October is ruled by Libra. For Libra’s reign is longer than the other October sign Scorpio, Libra is considered the Major October Sign.
You’re a Libra if your birthday falls between 23rd of September and 22nd of October. Libra is uniquely represented by the Scales. It is the only sign in the zodiac that is not represented by a living organism.
Since Venus rules Libra, its natives tend to be the embodiment of love. Libra is placed seventh in the astrology wheel and it is an Air sign. This zodiac sign gains its prominence from a roman deity called Lustitia, who is said to be the guardian of Justice and rights. Some of the famous Libras are Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Reynolds, Eminem, Kate Winslet, and Mahatma Gandhi.
Libras are considered to be very humble, calm, and polite in nature. They are the definition of ambiverts, that means they possess both introverted and extroverted qualities, which makes it a bit tricky to understand them. They carry out life in a very spontaneous manner and like to live in the moment. Due to the influence of Venus, Libras tend to have an artistic side in them.
True to their symbol, The Scale, Libra folks are born with the obsession to keep things balanced. This recurring theme is found in all aspects of their lives, including career, relationship, money, and hobby.
The October Libras are very talented and highly skilled. Many Libra individuals are drawn to careers related to the Law such judges, lawyers, and law enforcement officers.
The air element in their birth chart helps Libras to communicate their ideas clearly through music and art. The ruling planet Venus allows Libra to approach the concept of beauty without being prisoned by traditions. So some Libra natives will also find success as artists. However, Libra is less likely to become a bohemian unlike their airy sibling Gemini. Libra is more of a disciplined artist who produces art day in and day out.
The ruler of beauty and love Venus bestows upon fellow Libras a keen sense for art and the natural talent to love and be loved. This planetary has several implications. It helps Libras to appreciate art and in many cases produce art. Unlike the bohemian Gemini artists, Libra artists are more likely to succeed commercially thanks to their nature to balance true uniqueness and commerciality.
Libra is a cardinal sign. These individuals are the pioneers. They will start new projects and launch new initiatives. They aren’t afraid to change and adapt to changing environments, this is in part thanks to the Air element in their birth chart. They’re also extremely fair and spend every waking minute making sure that everyone is treated equally.
They’re the people’s leader. Libra’s obsession with fairness and balance is a leadership trait appreciated by their followers. After all, who wouldn’t want to follow a leader who’s fair and just?
On paper, Libra is close to being a flawless sign. However, similar to other zodiac signs, their strengths are often a double-edged sword. Libra’s balance and harmony require a ton of mental strength and physical effort to maintain. Depending on how much these air signs are trying to juggle at the same time, this obsession could wear them out sooner or later. As a result, some Libras may find themselves fatigued and having depressive thoughts.
In addition, keeping balance is not always the answer and their idea of fairness may not be universal. Sometimes the most effective solution is to go one extreme. In other words, being extreme IS the right balance but some Libras may not see that.

2. Scorpio ♏ Zodiac Sign (October 23 – November 21) – The Scorpion
Toward the end of October, the rule of Libra is over and the reign of Scorpio begins. For it rules over less than 1/3 of October, Scorpio is considered the Minor October Sign.
You’re a Scorpio if you’re born between 23rd of October and 21st of November. The Scorpio sign originated from the constellation of Scorpius. It is the eighth sign in the zodiac. This sign is famously represented by the scorpion, hence the name The Sign of The Scorpio.
Scorpio’s ruling planet is a little complicated: it is ruled by two different planets. Traditionally, before the discovery of Pluto, Mars was Scorpio’s ruling planet. Later on, Pluto took over as Scorpio’s planetary ruler. Today, astrologers sometimes use either one of both planets when analyzing Scorpio.
Scorpio is the last water sign of the zodiac and it is a fixed water sign. Some prominent Scorpio natives are Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton, Theodore Roosevelt, Pablo Picasso, and Desiderius Erasmus.
Scorpio individuals are not to be underestimated. They are very determined and goal-oriented people. However, since Scorpio is a feminine zodiac sign, they are also soft, humble, and kind-hearted. The composition of their birth chart makes these individuals very intuitive. They also have powerful personalities that cannot be easily swayed by others.

They are experts in building bonds that last till eternity. The Scorpios give priority to friends and family. They love to discover the mysteries of life, which always keeps them energized.
Sometimes the Scorpios can get too obsessed with their work and lose the balance between personal and professional life. While balance and harmony is the strength for the other October sign Libra, it isn’t so for Scorpio. Sometimes Scorpio’s good intentions can be doubted by others because of their mysterious appearance (sus) and secretive nature.
The curiosity for knowledge and thirst for discovery could lead them towards dark and occultic practices.
